Who We Are
Fairfax Retaining Wall Pros is a local company serving Fairfax and Fairfax County, Virginia. We do one thing: design and build retaining walls. Not driveways. Not patios on the side. Walls — and the drainage engineering that makes them last.
We started this company after seeing too many walls in Northern Virginia fail early. A wall that leans at year five. Stonework that spills its backfill across the yard after one bad storm. Timber walls bowing out like a sail. Almost every time, the problem was not the material on the face — it was what was missing behind it: drainage, compaction, or footings deep enough for our winters. So we build the slow, right way: drainage stone and pipe on every wall, compacted backfill in lifts, and footings dug below the frost line.
How We Work
- We walk the slope first. Every project starts on your property. We measure the grade, look at where water goes now, and talk through what you want the yard to become.
- We design for your soil. Fairfax County's marine clay is not ordinary dirt. It swells when wet and shrinks when dry, and it pushes hard against anything holding it back. Our drainage designs assume that push.
- We put it in writing. You get one written price for the whole job — design, materials, drainage, permits, and build. No allowances, no day-two surprises.
- We handle the paperwork. When a wall is tall enough to need a Fairfax County permit and engineered plans, we prepare them and shepherd the inspections.
- We walk it with you. Every job ends with a final walkthrough. We check the wall, the drainage outlets, and the finish — and we do not leave until you are satisfied.
What We Build
From segmental block walls and poured concrete walls to natural stone and timber, plus drainage systems, repairs, and replacements. We also build garden and seating walls and handle French drains and grading around the wall.
Serving Our Neighbors
We work exclusively in Fairfax County — Fairfax, Vienna, Oakton, McLean, Great Falls, Reston, Herndon, Burke, Springfield, Annandale, and the surrounding towns. Being local means we know the county permit process, the HOAs, the soil, and what holds up in Northern Virginia weather. When you hire us, you are hiring neighbors.
